J.Lo and Shakira Are Joining Forces for the Super Bowl Halftime Show and Their Fans Are Going Loca Over the News

If there’s one event we’re all counting down the days for, it’s the annual Super Bowl game. For 53 years, the whole nation has tuned into this championship event. Alongside the excitement of watching the nations top football legends fight their way to number one, each year audiences welcome a new A-lister to give a show-stopping performance.

That’s right, we could only be talking about that eagerly-anticipated halftime show. Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed vocal powerhouses like Maroon 5, Lady Gaga and even Prince take the stage as they perform a medley of their greatest hits. In recent news, the latest halftime performers have just been announced, and its a duo you don’t want to miss!

We’re going to get straight into it. On 2020’s Super Bowl Halftime show, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will step hand-in-hand onto the stage, and provide us with a rendition of their most iconic tunes; the world can barely contain its excitement! Not only is this possibly the fiercest lineup we’ve had for a long time, but we’re getting two for the price of one.

J-Lo recently took to social media to tweet the phrase “This is happening” alongside the caption “02.02.2020,” and a teaser photo of her Latina counterpart. Response from the singer’s tweet ranged from fan’s sheer excitement about the event, to their gratitude that she will be gracing the middle of this football game with such powerful vocals. Just like J-Lo, the Colombian beauty tweeted the phrase “Get ready,” with that same caption as Jennifer’s, of the 2020 date and a similar teaser photo.

The Musical Combo of the Century

Quicker than you could even utter the words “Super Bowl,” fans beginning putting two and two together, and suggested Jenny from the block and Shakira will be the latest stars to entertain audiences at the annual American football match.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, all the speculation became clear on Thursday, 26th September. According to The National Football League, both of these pop princesses are set to take the stage on February 20th, 2020 at Miami Gardens’ Hard Rock Stadium.

With such an impressive history of performers, it must have been quite the compliment for both of these stars to get their spot on the halftime show. Paying a visit once again to their social media platforms, both singers have expressed their enthusiasm over the project.

In a recent statement, Miss. Lopez admitted she “can’t wait to show what us girls can do on the world’s biggest stage.” Alongside this, Shakira has likened her appearance at the halftime show to a “true American dream.” Of course, both of these girls have gotten involved in some pretty notable projects over the years, but it’s quite likely that this is their biggest one yet!
