The art of cosplay, or costume play, has come a long way since the term was first officially coined back in the mid-80s. Since then thousands of super fans and fantasy world enthusiasts have found ways to raise the bar higher and higher by creating the most epic, accurate, and creative cosplay designs. And let’s face it, leading the way in this realm of insanely talented fandom are the all-powerful female cosplayers of the world.

To honor these women, we are taking a look at some of the best in the business who have absolutely killed it when it comes to mastering the art of make-believe. Whether its a famed comic book franchise or a popular film, game, or television series, these women have proved they can transform themselves into everyone and anyone.

Black Widow’s Twin Sister

Cosplayer and makeup artist, Helen Stifler has her Black Widow look down to a T. Every last strand of hair seemed to have been thought out before snapping this photo and that no-nonsense glare looks almost identical to Scarlett Johansson’s character. For those that don’t know, Black Widow, aka Natasha Romanova is a highly trained former KGB assassin and a former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who joins the ranks of the Avengers.

Playing this crime-fighting Russian super-soldier in the Marvel movie franchise is actress Scarlett Johansson. She first took on the role in 2010 with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2. Since then she has reprised the role in 10 more feature films within the Marvel universe and is set to star in an origin story film titled Black Widow this coming November 2020.

Hellboy Embracing His Feminine Side

Giving Hellboy its fair share of girl power is cosplayer Brenna Mazzoni. As a specialist in artistic and special effects makeup, Mazzoni never fails to take her cosplay creations to the next level. She even made her own Hellboy headpiece and glove and went as far as to paint her whole body in red.

To give this impressive cosplay some background, Hellboy is a Dark Horse Comics character that has since been reprised in several films. In the 2004 film Hellboy and its 2008 sequel, the role was played by actor Ron Perlman (pictured). In the 2019 reboot, the character was reprised by actor David Harbour.

Team Rocket Comes to Life

This cosplayer and model is “prepared for trouble” in her Jessie cosplay outfit and she’s got the entire look down. Not only is she perfectly emulating the Team Rocket uniform but she also nailed Jessie’s trademark hair toss, hand on the hip attitude, and unavoidable villainous glare.

For whoever somehow missed out on the Pokémon craze, Jessie is one half of the duo known as Team Rocket. Together, Jessie and James, as well as their walking and talking Pokémon, Meowth, are determined to steal Pikachu from the main protagonist, Pokémon trainer, Ash Ketchum.

Wasp Is No Small Undertaking

Cosplayer, Babs Butcher was not fooling around when she put together this Wasp cosplay look. With those wings, helmet, and suit of armor, she could easily be confused for the real thing. Not to mention the fact that she bears an uncanny resemblance to actress Evangeline Lily.

Wasp is a Marvel superhero often found fighting side by side with her fellow size-shifting superhero, Ant-Man. Wasp aka Janet van Dyne has been played by stars such as Michelle Pfeiffer and Hayley Lovitt. In the films Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Endgame Evangeline Lily took on the role of Hope Van Dyne who as the daughter of Janet van Dyne becomes the successor of the Wasp.

The Pretty and Powerful She-Ra

Cosplayer Olivia Mears described this costume as one of her favorite costumes she’s ever made. And we can definitely understand why. Her look is so impressive, we actually prefer it to the original. Mears was inspired to put together this incredible costume after watching the 2018 animated series She-Ra and the Princess of Power

The series is based on the original 1985 Filmation She-Ra: Princess of Power which was first created as a spin-off to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. If they ever decide to make a live-action version of this character, we hope they hire Mears to make the costumes. We aren’t sure anyone else can match her design.

Queen Margaery Has Reclaimed Her Throne

Moscow based model, cosplayer, and CG-artist Xenia Shelkovskaya has us seeing double with her Queen Margaery costume. From the hair, accentuated cheekbones, sultry gaze, and pouted lips, we would easily confuse Shelkovskaya for actress Natalie Dormer who played Margaery Tyrell in the Game of Thrones series.

So much so that she was even invited to visit the King’s Landing garden in Dubrovnik Croatia where the actual scenes featuring Queen Margaery were filmed. HBO’s Game of Thrones is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire book series by George R.R. Martin. The show ran for eight seasons and has inspired countless spectacular cosplay costumes ever since.

Dark Phoenix Is Keeping It Lit

This Cali-based cosplayer is on fire in her Dark Phoenix cosplay. With the help of some impressive graphics, she even has the flames in hand to go with the fiery red locks, glowing eyes, and trademark X-men uniform. This was just one of a series of X-men costumes that she featured on her Instagram page.

As mentioned, Dark Phoenix or Jean Grey is part of the Marvel Comics X-Men series. She appears in seven Marvel movies and recently received her own origin story film titled X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Most recently, Jean Grey is played by Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner.

Throwback to Betty Boop

Italian cosplayer Vanessa Adularia decided to throw it all the way back to the 1930s with her adorable Betty Boop cosplay. Not only is she totally pulling this look off, Adularia also made the black Betty Boop wig herself. It looks like she didn’t leave out a single detail with the perfect ringlets, pouty red lips, accentuated lashes and bashful gaze to boot .

The animated flapper girl cartoon named Betty Boop first appeared on our TV screens back in the 1930s and has since become one of the most popular cartoon characters in the world. It’s rumored that the original animation was actually a caricature of actress Helen Kane.

Kicking Butt as Lara Croft

Kiev-based cosplay enthusiast admits that she is “obsessed with Lara Croft.” And after one look at her Instagram page you will see this admission with your very own eyes. This girl lives, breathes, and becomes Lara with a range of impressive costumes and photoshoots that aim to emulate and honor the fearless Tomb Raider.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is a popular media franchise that originated as a video game series back in the mid-90s. It was later made popular to mainstream audiences thanks to the 2001 action film starring Angelina Jolie. A sequel was released in 2003 and more recently a reboot in 2018 with actress Alicia Vikander taking the reigns from Jolie.

The Mother of Dragons Returns

Norwegian cosplayer and owner of Starbit Creations, Ida has the unique ability to transform herself into a wide range of characters. From Disney Princesses to video game avatars, this girl can do it all. We were especially awed by her transformation into the Mother of Dragons, aka Daenerys.

When seeing her side by side with actress Emilia Clarke who played Daenerys in the HBO series Game of Thrones, you can really see just how detail-oriented Ida is. Her costume looks almost identical to the one from the show and even her intricate hairstyle has been mimicked down to every strand.

What’s the Sitch Kim Possible?

Cosplayer Natasha Kujawa is embracing her millennialism with this Kim Possible Cosplay. From the orange wig, crop top turtle neck, and side hanging utility belt, Kujawa’s cosplay is impossible not to recognize by anyone who grew up watching Disney channel. We were especially impressed that she was able to create the same billowing effect on her pants. Something we thought was only possible for cartoon crime fighters.

Kim Possible is an animated television series that first aired on the Disney channel in 2002 and quickly became one of Disney’s most popular series. Kim was voiced by actress Christy Carlson Romano who is well known for her role as Ren Stevens in the Disney Channel sitcom Even Stevens.

Feeling Hot as Sailor Mars

This Brazilian cosplayer is clearly a fan of 90s anime. Her Sailor Mars costume is impressive, to say the least. For those less into the world of anime and manga, Sailor Mars is a member of a team of Sailor Soldiers who have been tasked to save the earth from the forces of evil. Each scout has her own elemental power, with Sailor Mars’s power being associated with fire.

When they are not fighting off bad guys, however, the sailor scouts take on the form of regular middle-school students. Sailor Moon is a Japanese manga series from the 90s that was later adapted into an anime series and inspired the birth of an entire Sailor Moon franchise, including feature films and endless merchandise. Sailor Moon was adapted to English in 1995 and was a huge hit all across the world.

Opening Doors with Princess Anna

This Canadian cosplayer and model has harnessed her inner princess to take on the form of Princess Anna from Disney’s Frozen. While countless cosplayers have tackled the look of Anna’s sister, Elsa, we are happy to see that the more underrated sister is getting her share of cosplayer love as well.

Since its release in 2013, the Disney animated film Frozen has taken over the world, inspiring thousands to break out in song and “Let it Go.” Frozen won two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award, and two Grammy Awards, among others. Its success prompted a sequel released this past November 2019. Princess Anna in both films is voiced by actress Kristen Bell.

Channeling Melisadre’s Red Hot Look

Texas-based cosplayer Rebecca Seals describes herself as a “glorified chameleon.” And we can definitely see what she means. With her makeup and costume skills, Seals takes on a plethora of different characters, the majority of which perfectly utilizes her gorgeous red locks.

Here she is as Melisandre, aka the Red Woman from HBO’s Game of Thrones. Melisandre was a Red Priestess in the hit show who acted as the voice for the Lord of Light. She also took on the role of advisor for Stannis Baratheon and later for Jon Snow. The role of the Red Woman was portrayed by actress Carice van Houten.

A 90s Catwoman for Life

This cosplayer is all about the DC Universe and she absolutely nails it every time she creates a new and expertly put together design. From the Joker and Harley Quinn to Mera and Wonder Woman, there is no villain or superhero this super cosplayer can’t transform into.

Here she is taking on the form of Catwoman from Tim Burton’s 1992 film Batman Returns. In the film, the role of Catwoman aka Selina Kyle is played by actress Michelle Pfeiffer. Catwoman first appeared however as a DC comic-book character way back in 1940.

Goku Goes Girl Power

Giving Dragon Ball Z its share of Girl Power, this Costa Rican cosplayer is not about to let her gender define who she cosplays. And as it turns out, she’s not alone. There is a whole subculture of “gender-bent” cosplays where men and women dress up as characters of their opposite gender.

If you don’t recognize him, this blonde-haired animated fighter is named Goku and he can be seen in the Japanese anime television series Dragon Ball Z. What started as a Japanese television show back in 1989 soon transformed into a smash hit international franchise with adaptations and re-releases still making their way to our screens.

Nanananana, Batgirl

If we didn’t know any better we would think that this cosplayer was actually featured in a major motion picture. Her Batgirl costume looks as professional as they come. And while she has mastered many other characters, this look is by far our favorite.

Batgirl aka Betty Kane first made her way into DC Comics in 1961. However, her character was abandoned in 1964 and reintroduced with a new storyline in 1967 as Barbara Gordon’s alter ego, the daughter of Gotham City’s Police Commissioner James Gordon. Once brought to television and movies, Batgirl was portrayed by stars such as Yvonne Craig and Alicia Silverstone.

Maleficent’s High Cheek Boned Doppelganger

Southern California cosplayer Sarah Ingle usually likes to dress up as “your friendly neighborhood Disney Princess,” as she puts it on her Instagram page. With her natural big blue eyes and infectious smile, its no wonder she’s able to take on the form of any Disney Princess. But that doesn’t mean she can’t handle darker characters as well.

Here she is taking on the flip side of Disney magic and dipping her toes into villainy with her impressive Maleficent cosplay. And this looks is all about the makeup. It doesn’t matter what she is wearing, just by looking at her face we can tell who she is emulating. Who even knew cheekbones like that were possible without visual effect?

Cosplay Gone Rogue

Actress and self-described “comic nerd” takes her fandom to whole new levels with her impressive and often sultry cosplay designs. As you could guess based on her own personal description, many of her projects involve characters from popular comic book series such as Marvel and DC.

Here she is with her own rendition of who she describes as her favorite X-Men, Rogue aka Anna Marie LeBeau. Rogue is a member of a subspecies of humans called mutants that exist within the Marvel Universe. She makes her first appearance in the X-Men comic series in the early 80s and has since become a prominent member of the X-Men team. Rogue is played by Anna Paquin in the X-Men movie series.

Misty Is Catching All the Attention

Cosplayer Madison Kate is not messing around when it comes to putting together the perfect cosplay ensemble. From Final Fantasy to Star Wars, playing make-believe is what this girl does best. Just take a look at her Misty cosplay. Short of being an anime, Pokémon-catching character herself, Madison is the real deal.

Within the Pokémon universe, Misty is an aspiring Water Pokémon Master and is often seen traveling side by side with the storyline’s main protagonist, Ash Ketchum. The Pokémon franchise was first created in 1995 and originated as a Game Boy video game. It has since turned into a smash hit anime and manga series as well as an insanely popular trading card game.

Rey Has Got the Force

Can you point out which one is the cosplayer and which one is from the feature film? Not that easy right? That’s thanks to the mad skills of cosplayer Joanie Brosas who is as talented as she is drop-dead gorgeous. But don’t take our word for it. Her Rey cosplay speaks for itself.

As one of the most recent additions to the Star Wars universe, Rey first appeared on our screens as the main protagonist in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens and remained a central piece of the sequel film trilogy storyline. Rey is a scavenger that becomes involved with the Resistance and trains to be a Jedi under Luke Skywalker and General Leia.

Tracer’s Hair Game Is on Point

Costa Rican native and resident of Los Angeles, Angela Bermúdez is another talented cosplayer whose projects speak volumes for themselves. By using her artistic skills from her years as a painter, Bermúdez has proven she can transform herself into just about anybody.

Case and point, here she is killing it in her Tracer cosplay. Tracer aka Lena Oxton is a character that appears in the video game Overwatch. She is both energetic and highly mobile and her skills include teleportation and time-travel. You can also find Tracer in the Overwatch comic series

Zelda Is No Damsel in Distress

Arizona based cosplayer, Sarah Huff went beyond costume, hair, and makeup to perfect this cosplay look. She completely transformed into elf form in order to better emulate Princess Zelda, an imperative character in The Legend of Zelda video game series.

Zelda was originally designed to be a damsel in distress, dressed up in a royal pink gown. In later years, however, following the initial 1986 release of The Legend of Zelda, her character was altered to take on a more active, independent role.

Elastigirl’s Bodysuit Won’t Quit

For this cosplayer, model, and makeup artist, no project is too big for her to tackle with full force. Just look at her Elastigirl cosplay. She looks like she was taken straight out of the animation and is ready to save the world from bad guys. We wouldn’t be surprised if she learned how to super stretch just for the occasion.

Elastigirl, aka Helen Parr, is an elastic and dexterous superheroine meaning she can stretch her body into any length or shape imaginable. In addition to being a crime fighter, she is also a wife to fellow superhero Mr. Incredible and mother to three children Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack, who all have superpowers of their own. The animated superhero film The Incredibles came out in 2004 and was followed by a sequel in 2018.

I Dream of Jeannie Forever and Always

With a name like Jeannie, it seems it was this cosplayer’s birthright to dress up as Barbara Eden from her role in the beloved show I Dream of Jeannie. And after seeing the pink ensemble that she put together, we are confident that Eden herself would be proud.

I Dream of Jeannie first aired back in 1965 and ran for five seasons throughout the 60s and 70s. Although the show started off in black and white, it made its transition to color after the success of its first season. The role of Jeannie became Barbara Eden’s most memorable performance

Harley Quinn 2.0

One of many cosplayers’ favorite characters to emulate is DC’s Harley Quinn. No matter what convention you might attend, you will be sure to spot a few Harleys strutting their stuff. Few, however, have nailed her look from the 2020 film Birds of Prey quite as well as this cosplay and props artist.

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which released just this past winter 2020, follows Ms. Quinn she copes with her breakup with the Joker. As you can imagine, quirky insanity ensues and a new band of rebellious friends is formed. Quinn is played by Margot Robbie, who first took on the role in the 2019 film Suicide Squad.

Strong Girls for the Win With Xena

Feeling nostalgic? Here’s a throwback for you. Who can forget this smash-hit 90s television series Xena: Warrior Princess? Certainly not cosplayer Irine Meier, who seems to have remembered every detail for the Grecian warrior to a T.

Xena: Warrior Princess was first released in 1995 as a spin-off series to Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. It has since been praised for its strong female lead and has earned a huge cult following. Its success led to a whole franchise consisting of comic books, video games, and even its own convention. The warrior princess herself was played by New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless.

Thanos Makes Bad Look Good

This talented cosplayer absolutely killed it with her gender-bent Thanos costume. After seeing her profile, it’s really no surprise as she seems to give new life to any character that she takes on. Even if said character is a supervillain hellbent on wiping out half the population.

If you don’t know what we are talking about, Thanos is a Marvel Comics supervillain and one of the most powerful in the Marvel Universe. His character was first introduced in comic form in 1973. Since then, he has become a major player in the cinematic universe, appearing in five major motion pictures starting with The Avengers in 2012. Thanos is portrayed by actor Josh Brolin.

Hanging Out With Spiderman

Sometimes all you need to nail your cosplay look is a good quality bodysuit. And if you don’t believe us, just take one look at this cosplayer that has taken her gender-bent cosplayer to whole new levels of style. All thanks to her wow-worthy bodysuit designed by fellow cosplayer, Brandon Gilbert.

Although your friendly neighborhood Spiderman needs no introduction, we are going to go ahead and give him one anyway. Spiderman aka Peter Parker is a superhero created by Stan Lee who first made his Marvel comic book appearance back in 1962. Since then he has become an unstoppable franchise, inspiring hit after hit movies. He has been portrayed by big-name actors such as Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland.

Starfire Shines Bright

Bringing us back to the DC Universe is this gorgeous and talented cosplayer who is knocking us out with her Starfire costume. Her cosplay looks almost identical to Starfire circa 2017 when she appears in DC’s Super-Sons. However, she does not limit her skills to just DC. On the contrary, her amazing cosplay creations cover a wide range of sci-fi and fantasy universes from Disney to Marvel to anime and more.

Prior to Super-Sons, Starfire first made her appearance in DC comics back in 1980. She has since made her way into a variety of animated and live-action movies and shows. She is a member of the Teen Titans in Cartoon Network’s animated series and in the live adaptation, Titans, where she is portrayed by actress Anna Diop.

Gamora the Merrier

Serving us all that green-skinned realness is the equally talented and beautiful cosplayer, Caitlin Christine showing off her Gamora cosplay. We can’t seem to look away from Christine’s endless list of cosplay creations as she somehow makes every character resonate with a touch of gorgeous glamour. Not to mention the impressive graphics that complement her picture-perfect ensembles seen on her IG account.

Gamora first made her Marvel comic debut in 1975 in the Strange Tales anthology series. Today she is most known for being a member of the space fighting team Guardians of the Galaxy, made popular by the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy and the sequel that followed. In these films, as well as in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, Gamora is portrayed by actress Zoe Saldana.

Ivy Has Us All Wound up

Cosplayer Alyson Tabbitha describes herself on her Instagram page as “Just a girl that likes to play dress up and make things.” But after one look at her insanely detailed and accurate works of art, you will realize that she does way more than just playing dress-up. All of her creations look nearly identical to the real thing. From the clothes to the hair, to the makeup, her looks are some of the best we’ve seen so far.

Here the skilled cosplayer has transformed herself into Poison Ivy from the 1997 film Batman & Robin. In the film, the role of Ivy was portrayed by actress Uma Thurman. As a character in the DC Comics, Poison Ivy made her first appearance as one of Batman’s enemies way back in 1966.

Mystique Caught in the Act

Instead of just any Mystique cosplay, which is impressive in itself, cosplayer Evy Thomas decided to take her costume to the next level by referencing one very specific scene in the film X-Men: Days of Future Past. Now, that’s a whole new level of skills. In the scene, Mystique is disguised as a soldier in the U.S. Army before shedding her disguise and returning to her natural form.

What Thomas has done is capture Mystique mid-transformation, recreating both her natural form as well as her disguise. We can’t imagine how she managed to put this outfit on, let alone create it! Mystique is a member of the X-Men team. She first appeared in the comic book Ms. Marvel in 1978. She gained mainstream recognition thanks to her appearance in seven of the X-Men films where she was portrayed by Rebecca Romijin and later by Jennifer Lawrence.

Mera Making Waves

LA-based cosplayer, Kristin is another mad-talented make believer to look out for. One of her most stirring cosplays is her Mera suit. And after reading about her process, it’s no wonder she is so proud of her creation. She did all the armor fabrication herself using foam and acrylic metallic paint. She even made all the individual scales by hand. The end result looks absolutely stunning, to say the least.

The look that Kirstin was emulating was that of Queen Mera, which is a DC character that first appeared in the Aquaman comics in 1963. Mera is the Queen of Atlantis and the wife of Aquaman. She has superhuman strength and the ability to control water. Today she is well known from her appearance in the feature films of the DC Extended Universe where she is portrayed by Amber Heard (left).

Captain Marvel Is Fierce as Ever

Cosplayer, fashion designer and owner of Koala Art Design, Jamie Koala says many had urged her to make a Captain Marvel suit before she took on the challenge. And boy did she live up to it. The end result turned out to look almost identical to the suit used in the Marvel cinematic universe. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Koala even hand-painted the suit, a task that took her seven hours to complete.

Captain Marvel’s alias Carole Danvers was first introduced to the Marvel Universe in 1968. It wasn’t until 1977 when Danvers’ DNA was fused with the superhero Mar-Vell, that her superhuman powers began to manifest. She was first known as Mrs. Marvel before taking on the name, Captain Marvel that she is known as today. In recent years, Captain Marvel appeared in two Marvel feature films where she was portrayed by actress Brie Larson (left).

Coolest Spider-Woman in the Spideyverse

Oftentimes an amazing cosplay takes a whole team of enthusiasts to completely knock it out of the park. For this cosplayer, she has many to thank for one of her favorites, Gwen Stacy. Responsible for the suit was self-described Zentai and Catsuit Dealer Leo Lee and for the pattern, Gun Head Design. Leaving no detail out and bringing the look together is her gorgeous hairstyle, which looks identical to that of the animated character.

Gwen aka Spider-Woman is a fairly new addition to the Marvel comic-book universe. She was first introduced in 2014 and was made popular by the 2018 computer-animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse where she was voiced by actress Hailee Steinfeld

Harley Quinn in Her OG Form

This Southern Californian based cosplayer describes herself as a “Professional Costuming Wizard.” And after seeing what she can do, we definitely see why. Her cosplay creations are literal magic. Her creative designs have no limit and from Cartoon Network and Disney to Marvel and DC, she isn’t afraid to take on any and every make-believe universe.

DC’s Harley Quinn has evolved a lot since her first appearance in the DC animated universe’s Batman: The Animated Series back in 1992. She was created in order to be a female sidekick for Batman’s nemesis, Joker. Her original black and red bodysuit was inspired by Days of Our Lives star Arleen Sorkin after she appeared in a dream sequence wearing a bright sparkly jester costume.

A Real-Life Wonder Woman

For Brigitte Goudz, Wonder Woman is not just about cosplay, it is a way of life. This girl is a real-life Wonder Woman with superhuman strength made only possible by her hours of dedication in the gym. As a bodybuilder, Goudz knows what it takes to find your inner strength and work hard on yourself in order to be your very own superhero.

For her Wonder Woman look, Goudz is channeling her inner Gal Gadot, who has been portraying Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince in the DC Extended Universe since 2016. Long before Gadot however, Wonder Woman first made her appearance in DC comics way back in 1941 and she is one of the original members of the Justice League. Goudz’s suit was made for her by JEFX

High Fly Fashion With Hawk Girl

Sometimes in cosplay, you have to be creative with what you have to construct new and impressive designs. For instance, when this cosplayer needed to create wings for her Hawk Girl cosplay, she decided to utilize Victoria Secret Angel Wings, painting them from baby pink and white to white and brown. And not only does the result look absolutely perfect, but their catwalk-ready design also made them light, bouncy, and mobile.

Hawkgirl is a superheroine that first appeared in DC comics in 1940. Since then she has received several different narratives, most of which involve her fighting the bad guys alongside her partner Hawkman. In the Arrowverse series, Hawkgirl is portrayed by actress Ciara Renée.

A Star Quality Mantis

Cosplayer Eugenia Mashina never turns away an opportunity to create some stunning cosplay attire. This girl has some insane skills when it comes to designing quality corsets and costumes. And not just for herself. She also sells her creations on her very own Etsy shop, Nia’s Handmade Stuff.

Here Eugenia has transformed herself into Mantis from Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy. Mantis made her debut in The Avengers comicbook in 1973. Atlanta cosplayer, known as Kuma has truly embraced the art of cosplay. She has taken her creative skills as well as her sewing abilities to whole new levels with some gorgeous, bright, and colorful creations. For this Princess Hilda look, Kuma was excited to work with Yaya Han’s collection of cosplay fabrics. In particular the royal/red color shift dupioni fabric as well as the turquoise/red shift fabric used to create the cape.

Hilda is the princess of Lorule found in the storyline of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Nintendo adventure game. Hilda assists Link rescue the Seven Sages and acts as his guide through Lorule. However, her real intention is to save her kingdom which had been destroyed long before her time. Hilda also makes an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The Mischievous Lady Loki

This New York-based cosplayer is showing us what the God of Mischief looks like when he truly embraces his feminine side. In the Marvel comic book series, Lady Loki is the female version of Loki and one of the most recognizable of his shape-shifting forms. She has become a popular venture for avid cosplayers but few have nailed it quite this well.

Loki as we recognize him today, in his male form, first appeared in the Marvel Universe in 1962. He is based on the Norse deity of the same name and is known as the Asgardian god of mischief. He is the adopted son of King Odin and sibling of the almighty Thor. On the big screen, Loki is portrayed by actor Tom Hiddleston. Lady Loki has yet to be introduced to the Marvel cinematic universe.

Scarlet Witch Is at It Again

Cosplay artist, model, and comic enthusiast, Kaycee, went all out with her rendition of Marvel’s Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff. From hair to face to clothes, and even to superpowers, she has made herself into a replica that’s indistinguishable from the real character.

Scarlet Witch is a Marvel classic. She first appeared in X-Men way back in 1964. She’s basically an extremely powerful sorceress, capable of altering reality in unimaginable ways. In fact, for most of her history, she was considered Magneto’s daughter. Her most recent film rendering was by the talented actress Elizabeth Olsen, where she played in The Avengers.

Beerus Takes His Earthly Form

Missy Mayhem, the ultra-talented cosplayer and “it” factor nerd continues to wow everyone. This time, she designed a perfect, one-to-one costume of Beerus, one of the Gods of Destruction from Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods. This was her outfit for last year’s Animex convention. Safe to say that she turned a few heads and probably sprained more than a few necks. It’s as if someone 3D printed out a live version of Beerus.

Beerus sort of reminds of an ancient Egyptian deity, which is very cool. He is not someone you’d want to mess with. His powers are so mighty that in his Dragon Ball world, he’s actually quite capable of obliterating the entire universe. Actually, he’s the most powerful of all the Gods of Destruction. In one confrontation, his fist clashing with his opponent’s sent ripples through the universe and put its existence at risk.

Wanda’s Magic Lives on In Real Life

In the colorful world of cosplay, Merisiel Irüm is huge. Her Instagram account has almost half a million followers! And it’s not surprising why: she has got serious skills. Here, she is flawless in her interpretation of Wanda from The Fairly OddParents. Every detail is immaculately thought-through, and that’s where the magic happens. For one example, look at the crown. See how it seems to be floating on top of her head, just like the cartoon?

Wanda is the more responsible one between little Timmy Turner’s two magical OddParents. She is less inclined to grant him crazy wishes. But her responsibility and reluctance only go so far because her husband usually grants them anyway. Wanda is voiced by the talented and charismatic Susanne Blakeslee.

Reggie Rocket Has Found Her New Stunt Double

If you’re into cosplay you might have heard of the Kay Bear, one of the liveliest in the business. Here, we get a look at her awesome work as Reggie Rocket from Rocket Power. And as you can see, she nailed it. With the purple wavy hair, identical shirt, and matching sunglasses, everything is in place to make this a spectacularly accurate and delicious piece of art.

Reggie Rocket, who appears in the hit 90s Nickelodeon series, Rocket Power is one of those people (yes, cartoon characters are people too!) that seem to be amazing at whatever they do. She’s great at sports, she’s tough, and even at only eleven years old, she has all sorts of projects, including publishing a magazine. The woman chosen to portrait Reggie Rocket was Shayna Fox, and she obviously did a fantastic job.

Feline Vibes Done Right

Nikki Warner is a design goddess. After (and during) her professional design studies, she immersed herself deep into the wonderful world of cosplay. Her latest project was a masterful recreation of Catra from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. The refinement here is out of this world. Every aspect of the character is perfectly brought to real life. We can hardly imagine how long this must have taken! Now that’s dedication.

Catra is an ever-developing character. At first, she seems like kind of an underachiever, but then later seasons of the series prove that she’s quite the skilled strategist. Though she’s not exactly the main character, she does play a prominent role. AJ Michalka was the perfect choice for animating Catra. The energetic American actress nailed the part.

Ban Walks the Earth In Flesh, Bone, and Spandex

Dutch cosplayer and influencer, Sammy, takes manga cosplay to a whole new level. In this amazing display of talent and genius, she chose to portray Ban from Seven Deadly Sins. We think she might also have superpowers because we’re not sure how any human being could fit into that spandex. But she did. And the results are superb. Notice the metal studs on the outfit. The sins are in the details.

He’s cool, he’s powerful, he’s muscular, and he has a particular taste for action. The original anime character is voiced by Japanese voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki. In the English language version, he is voiced by actor Benjamin Diskin.

Cheetah Minerva Is Coming to Do Some Major Damage

The self-described comic book nerd from the Midwest is well known in the cosplay universe. We love her as Harley Quinn and Laura Craft. Did you know that, although most of her cosplays are redheads, she actually is not one in real life? From the makeup, outfits, and facial expressions, we see why she is so popular, especially here with her cosplaying as Cheetah Minerva, the archenemy of superhero Wonder Woman.

Cheetah Minerva has been described as one of Wonder Woman’s most iconic enemies. Ever since her debut back in 1943 she has been popping up in many of the Wonder Women comic books, always ready to wreak havoc. She has not appeared in any cartoons or films. But she will be featured in the upcoming movie Wonder Woman 1984 portrayed by funny-woman former SNL cast member Kristin Wiig.

See Me In Azeroth

Muriel is the Netherlands-based student who spends her spare-time playing dress-up. For this photo, she found the perfect icy-blue wig to transform into Nelliel from the Japanese animation TV series Bleach. She was inspired to take on the character once she found out they were coming out with a new season next year!

Also known as Nel Tu, Nelliel, if the female character with child-like features. People know her for being good-natured, which contrasts with her large and hard-to-miss crimson scar that runs across her face. We love how Muriel replicated her skull using foam and foamclay.

Emerald-Eyed Esmerelda

Italian cosplayer Suzy just loves the character of Esmerelda, which is why she chooses to revisit it every once in a while. She loves to dress up as a sultry female character but has also tried switching it up and cosplaying characters like DC’s the joker. At 24-years-old, she’s not grown out of her childhood classics just yet.

Appearing in Disney’s famous animation The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Esmerelda is the French-Roma teenager who dances and hangs out with her goat, Djali. She’s a sweet and kind character whole stole many hearts, not least of all because she has the most incredible green eyes.

Merida Is All Grown Up

Nikita has been cosplaying since 2006 and is a self-proclaimed “expert in sewing and performing.” It makes sense considering how amazing she looked when she dressed up as Merida from the Pixar animation Brave. It’s one of her favorites princesses to cosplay, and one that she would revisit every winter con.

Merida is the main character in Brave and a unique character in relation to Disney’s other princesses. She is the only one with red hair and the only one from Scotland. She’s much loved for her courageous spirit, impressive archery skills, and desire to stray away from redundant traditions.

Adorable as Baby Yoda

Artist and cosplayer Lisa Mancini is known by her fans as that “Mermaid Squirrel Girl.” Turns out she has earned that title for a few reasons. For one, she owns an adorable pet squirrel. Secondly, she is the proud owner of her Etsy store, Mermaid Merch Co. In addition, as part of her wide range of gorgeous cosplay ensembles, she also has a notable Squirrel Girl cosplay as well as several looks as Ariel, our favorite being “Warrior Ariel.”

Here Mancini is channeling her adorable squirrel side to become this year’s biggest internet sensation, Baby Yoda. Besides being the cutest trend ever, Baby Yoda is also a character in the series Star Wars: The Mandalorian, which first released in 2019. The show’s third season is currently in the works.

Crysta Has Flown Out of the Rainforest

This published cosplayer and costumer is taking us back to the 90s in her magical Crysta cosplay. We aren’t sure if fairies exist in real life, but if they do, we bet they would look just like this. From the floral details in her two-piece costume to the voluminous flower crown and wooden staff, this earthy cosplay is making us feel one with nature.

Crysta, a curious and energetic fairy is the main character in the film FernGully: The Last Rainforest as well as its direct-to-video sequel. In the film, Crysta along with her new friend Batty embark on an adventure together to save the forest from being destroyed by humans. We wish our real rainforests could have a fairy and bat friend protecting them from harm.

Steph Sidekicks With Style

Brooke, the real-life cosplay hero, describes herself as “Just a tattooed chick who loves the world of fantasy, comic books & superpowers.” Well clearly her superpower is playing make-believe. Through her personal page as well as her role as a page model for Australian non-profit, Cosplay Edits N Stuff, Brooke has brought followers some pretty awesome looks, including this Stephanie Brown cosplay.

Leave it to a butt-kicking female superhero to be the only one to take on the role of both Batgirl and Robin. DC comic book superhero Stephanie Brown first made her debut in 1992. Since then she became the fourth character to put on Robin’s green mask and later switched it up to become the fourth Batgirl.

Belle the Beauty Queen

This cosplayer has an amazing knack for transforming herself into literally any Disney princess. She’s found such a passion for it that she even started her own casual cosplay clothing line called Royal Coven, which is primarily Disney focused.

Here she is showing off her Belle cosplay from Disney’s Beauty and The Beast. A look she clearly knocks out of the park. With her brown hair, big hazel eyes and infectious smile, its almost as if this look was made for her. In addition to Belle, she also has an amazing Elsa cosplay that is worth checking out.

Princess Bubblegum Ready for Her Next Adventure

After binging Adventure Time at the beginning of the year, this Czechian cosplayer knew she wanted to make a Princess Bubblegum costume. Despite having to venture outside her comfort zone to create the princess gown and apply the body paint, we have to say that she did a pretty phenomenal job.

Princess Bubblegum is a character found in the Cartoon Network fantasy series Adventure Time. She is the ruler of the Candy Kingdom and a good friend to the show’s main characters Finn and Jake. Her hair is made entirely of bubblegum and she is often seen performing scientific experiments in her lab.

Fran Is Ready for Battle

This dedicated cosplayer, who goes by the nickname Honey Bunny, says she really tested her limits when putting together her Fran costume, which required materials we never even heard of before. It seems like in cosplay, going out of one’s comfort zones is what reaps the most outstanding results.

Fran is a character from the Final Fantasy media franchise. She made her first appearance in 2006 as part of the 12th installment of the hit PlayStation game. She is a member of the Viera race which is a group of part human, part rabbit characters.

Sailor Jupiter for the Win

Australian cosplayer, dancer and self described “geek,” Kim Kine is another cosplay diva to look out for. Although she only opened her Instagram account showing off her creations just this past May, something tells us she is going to keep them coming. In addition to her amazing cosplay, Kim also offers wellness tips and what she calls “posture hacks.”

Here Ms. Kine shows off her Sailor Jupiter cosplay. Sailor Jupiter or Kino Makoto (Lita Kino in English) is a sailor scout in the Japanese manga and anime series Sailor Moon. Her powers include electrokinesis, plant manipulation, and superhuman strength.

Enchantress Earning Her Namesake

The Copenhagen-based makeup artist and cosplayer is all about playing up features and creating unbelievable looks with her insane makeup skills. When she’s not applying those skills to her cosplay creations, she’s doing wedding hair and makeup for brides. Here she’s taken on the form of Enchantress from the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game, Dota 2.

Dota 2 was first released in 2013 and has since become one of the most played games on Steam. As her name alludes to, Enchantress has the ability to charm or enchant an enemy, significantly slowing down their progress. She can also slow down enemy attacks and has the ability to heal herself and others.

Thumbelina, No Bigger Than a Thumb

Colorado-based cosplayer and singer Ginny Di is giving us all the feels with this 90s nostalgia. She looks picture perfect in her Thumbelina cosplay, which she put together after finding out that Jodi Benson, the actress that voiced Thumbelina back in 1994 would be attending Denver Pop Culture Con.

Not only did Di design and model the cosplay, but she also put together her own photoshoot after which she edited all the photos herself in Photoshop. Thumbelina is an animated musical film based on the 1835 story of the same name. The story is about a tiny girl that is no bigger than a thumb who gets kidnapped by a toad and must find her way back to her true love, fairy prince Cornelius.

Xayah Is Not Fooling Around

This Hungarian cosplayer and costume artist is clearly a force to be reckoned with. And the talented gaming enthusiast is up for any challenge. She created this Xayah cosplay for the League of Legends world final viewing event in London which was held this past November 2019.

As you might have guessed, Xayah is a character in the MOBA League of Legends. In the game, Xayah uses her speed, guile, and razor-sharp feather blades to bypass anyone who gets in her way. She fights alongside her partner and romantic interest, Rakan. Together they fight to protect their tribe.

Double Trouble Widowmaker

Cosplayer Giu Hellsing is all about making you double take with her alluring spot-on cosplay attire. And no detail was too small for Hellsing when she put together this Widowmaker cosplay. With her full body painted in blue and her yellow contacts in, you can’t help but admire her dedication.

For those non-gamers Widowmaker, aka Amélie Lacroix is a character in the 2016 video game Overwatch. She is French in origin and her fighting abilities include handling a grappling hook and infra-sight which allows her to see through walls.
