Sex & The City Three: The Potential Sequel That Never Happened

    The Show We Can’t Forget

Recently rumors about a third Sex and the City movie circulated all over the media. Hopes were up and people were ready to see where the characters were at this point in their lives. Unfortunately, the rumors were just rumors. It was the Sex and the City movie that almost happened. According to some sources, Kim Cattrall refused to do the movie because the producers wanted to kill off a very important character.

They Were Going to Kill off Big

The producers planned to have Big, the main character’s husband, die of a heart attack in the shower right off the bat. Kim, who plays Samantha in the TV show, hated the idea and refused to participate.

Other sources say that Kim would not partake in the movie unless the Warner Bros. agreed to produce other movies that she is working on at the moment.

    Cattrall Denied it All

Kim Cattrall says that none of these ridiculous claims were true. She told Pier Morgan that none of the cast members called her to talk about the rumors blaming her for ruining the chances that a third movie would come out. But she did confirm that she never even considered doing the movie in the first place.

The actress also admitted that she hated the third movie’s plot. Kim didn’t like the idea that big would die so soon in the movie because the rest of the movie had to be about Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) getting over the death of her true love.

Samantha and Carrie’s Drama Goes Way Back

Samantha had her reasons for not wanting to be a part of Sex and the City anymore. Parker did make loads more money than Cattrall, but that was not the only issue she had.

Kim plays Samantha who is a very open and promiscuous woman. Her role required a lot of nudity, which Kim did not appreciate. She especially was not happy that she was being paid less while having to expose herself on a majority of episodes. Also, Kim wanted the show to revolve more around her character and less around Sarah’s.

    The Real Life Show Down

Not too long ago, Kim’s brother was found dead after having gone missing. Sarah Jessica Parker decided to reach out to Central even though they’re not on the best terms. She tweeted “I can’t begin to know how her family is managing such a loss.

We all send her our love and condolences and grant her the privacy that she’s asked for.” Although the gesture seemed nice, Kim was not happy about it. In response to Parker’s post, Kim Tweeted “I don’t need your love and support at this time @SaraJessicaParker.” Ouch… that has gotta hurt!

The Show Down Heated Up and Fast

Cattrall took her anger even further and took the drama to from Twitter to Instagram. She wrote; “My Mom asked me today ‘When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?'” Cattrall wrote on Instagram. “Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now.”

“Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend,” Cattrall wrote. “So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”

The world was shocked to learn that their on-screen friendship was totally forced. After drama like this, we’re not sure why people thought Cattrall would agree to a third movie in the first place. Kim’s close friend told reporters that the actress feels like she’s been mistreated by Parker for six years.

Sarah Say’s She’s Super Disappointed… There Will Not Be a Third Movie

“I’m disappointed,” Parker said. “We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”
